Hi and welcome to Team UCLan Equestrian
All Students of the University of Central Lancashire and the associated Myerscough College are welcome to join the club.
We are a small and friendly club consisting of riders of all abilities and experience levels and have never before had such a high number of beginner and novice riders while aslo gaining riders who were drafted straight into our A- and B- teams.
We conduct weekly lessons at Earnsdale Farm Riding School, split according to skill level. In addition, we
give advanced riders the oppportunity to compete as members of our A- and B- Teams against other Universities' teams in the North West in affiliation with British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS).
In the academic year 2011/2012 we have experienced the benefits of a positive move to a new riding school. Earnsdale Farm is our home venue for lessons and competitions for the foreseeable future. The club is enjoying its relationship with Earnsdale Farm and awaits its remaining time there with immense anticipation and enthusiasm.
This year we have been sponsored by YBD, Preston, providing us with fundraising fancy dress nights at MACs Bar, Preston. Independently, the club has conducted a number of fundraising schemes including a Naked Stable Boys calendar and a cake sale. Fundraising events are conducted in order to increase club funds in order to give more financial freedom allowing us to subsidising costs for our members, but more importantly, half of all money raidsed - including that from sponsorship - is donated to Penny Farm, Blackpool, a World Horse Welfare Sanctuary.
