BUCS is the national governing body for university sport within the UK and works to enhance the benefits of sport by increasing participation and performance within sporting competitions.
The equestrian programme allows university teams based in geographical proximity to compete against each other. Teams compete in blocks of four and winning teams are awarded places in competition with similarly skilled teams at regional and national levels. Four students from each university team participate in combined training which includes set dressage and showjumping rounds.
Team UCLan Equestrian Club has eight rider spaces to compete in BUCS. During September and October, riders will be continually assessed during lessons in order to determine which eight riders are to be split into two teams of four to form A-Team and B-Team for the competitions ahead.
Riders who wish to be considered for team selection should express their interest to the current A- and B-team captains.
